This was captured in 1995 with a camcorder my emigrant artist parents saved up for and gifted to me because I declared that my existential depression could be alleviated if I was a film director .
Filming my friends wilding out on the streets and subways of our city didn’t feel significant at the time .
Unknown to us shortly after the whole world changed so completely that these archives now have more than just a personal value to me . They capture the last moments of an extinct reality.

The only adult who dared enter that train car was a preacher , attempting to preach and pacify us he was confronted by the female students of our school.
Even without dialogue you can feel the ferocity of their arguments .
The night began on the farthest end of Brooklyn , at a warehouse Birthday Party of the most popular girl in school .
Cheryl La Rosa had a way of uniting all the clashing counter culture’s. Metal heads, skaters, punks ,goths ,hippies … simply because she radiated beauty and everyone wanted to be her friend .
All the misfits from our school were at her birthday party .
A band called Torn Earlobe made up of music majors played . While all the members were classically trained musicians the distinction of Torn Earlobe was how terrible they sounded . They were however very loud and at peak show the party was shot down by police .
Since no one lived anywhere near that area everyone found themselves on same train platform and somehow in same subway car for hours trying to get back to manhattan . All on various substances …
I exited when they began to tear the train car apart .
